Position Summary:

The Mohs Scheduler with SkinPros plays a pivotal role in supporting Mohs Surgeons by overseeing administrative tasks essential to patient scheduling, communication, and follow-up care. This position demands a detail-oriented professional with exceptional organizational and communication skills to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of patient care.

 

Full Time Position:  Weekly Schedule 

Monday & Tuesday:  6:15 AM – 3 PM in Swansea, MA

Wednesday & Thursday:  7:30 AM – 4 PM in Providence, RI

Friday (partial day) – Either 7:15 AM – Noon in Providence OR 7:15 AM – 2 PM in Newport (2 x month)

Compensation:  Hourly rate between $21-$23 (based on experience) plus comprehensive benefits package

 

Essential Functions:

To perform effectively in this role, the candidate must fulfill the following duties with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Conduct post-operative follow-up calls to assess patient recovery, addressing concerns such as pain, bleeding, or bandage-related issues.
  • Coordinate and confirm surgical appointments, maintaining a surgical cancellation list for efficient scheduling adjustments.
  • Organize and maintain accurate surgical paper charts (Mohs maps) on a weekly basis, ensuring all preparations are completed prior to surgeries.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for surgical phone consultations and coordinate related communications.
  • Monitor patients on anticoagulants, such as Coumadin, to ensure appropriate INR levels are maintained for surgical safety.
  • Oversee the management of tasks within the Electronic Medical Assistant (EMA) system to streamline workflow.
  • Serve as the liaison for intra-team communications, coordinating patient calls and scheduling within the Mohs department.
  • Communicate with plastic surgeons regarding patient scheduling and follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Maintain the Pathology Log, ensuring accurate documentation of follow-up actions, treatment plans, and prescription entries.
  • Keep culture logs up to date in compliance with established protocols.
  • Respond to voicemail messages for the Mohs department promptly and professionally.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of administrative experience in a medical setting is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly EMA, is highly preferred.
