Position Summary:

The Lab Courier is responsible for the timely pickup, transfer, and delivery of medical specimens and records between laboratories, practice offices, and clinics.

Essential Functions:

To perform effectively in this role, the candidate must fulfill the following duties with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Operate a company vehicle during the shift across various roads and weather conditions.
  • Safely transport laboratory specimens, medical records, pharmacy items, interoffice mail, and other related materials in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Exhibit safe and courteous driving practices.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, ensuring positive interactions with patients, vendors, employees, and the public.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and ensure the company vehicle remains clean, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a customer service role.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

    • Occasionally lift, push, pull, or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Vision Requirements:
    • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
