Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Mohs Registered Nurse to join our dermatology team, providing essential support to our dermatologists and exceptional care to our patients. Essential Functions:

To perform effectively in this role, the candidate must fulfill the following duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Assist the surgeon during procedures, including scrubbing in, handing instruments, cutting sutures, and maintaining a sterile operative field.
  • Perform specific procedures under physician supervision to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Conduct follow-up with patients after procedures to assess outcomes and address any concerns.
  • Escort patients to and from examination rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of appointments.
  • Perform medical intake, consultations, and assessments under supervision, preparing patients appropriately for laser and other cosmetic treatments.
  • Answer patient questions regarding procedures and skincare products, providing knowledgeable and compassionate guidance.
  • Accurately document all patient consultations and procedures in Electronic Health Records (EHR), including patient history, exam findings, treatment details (e.g., laser settings, doses), skincare recommendations, and future treatment plans.
  • Ensure all patient forms and requisitions are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Manage patient flow according to practice protocols, maintaining an organized and efficient schedule.
  • Assist with cleaning and restocking examination and treatment rooms at the close of business each day.
  • Handle all administrative tasks promptly and efficiently, contributing to the smooth operation of the practice.
  • Set up, clean, sterilize, and take inventory of all medical equipment and instruments, including procedure trays, in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Perform phlebotomy as required and ensure that all equipment is maintained in good working order.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in dermatology (preferred) and EMR/EHR systems (preferred).
  • Strong customer service and phone etiquette skills.
  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Phlebotomy skills are required.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
